Here I used three different types of paper to see what different effects they gave when they were coloured. I used a blue chalk pastel on the paper.  The first is just normal paper with 180 gsm and allowed me to coat the paper with the pastel leaving a smooth finish. The second was watercolour paper which left a rougher texture and more white gaps. The final piece is on the banana paper. It left lots of white gaps as the paper is so bumpy. Im not sure whether this would make an audience more inclined to want to touch a piece but it does make it more interesting and gets the texture across well.
