I started looking into advertising that got people involved and one which caught my eye and got me interested was this campaign for Dogwood Initiative by a Canadian company called Re-Think Canada. It’s called “No Tankers Oil Posters” and was a campaign protesting about the use of Oil Tankers. The posters were made from water soluble ink so that when it rained the ink would run into the posters below, ruining them and thus simulating the effects of an oil spill and the effects that oil spills have on regions. Once the ink had run it revealed the campaign message “Oil spills affect everyone”. I really like this idea as it is making an actual difference to the environment it is in whilst also delivering a message. I want to find more advertising like this and although it doesn’t directly involve the audience it does involve the environment.
